Dear Parents,
The penultimate week of school has been completed, and we have continued working hard to finish several units before the end of the year. Portfolio binders have now been given to each student, containing the tests and assignments they have completed throughout the year. Sorting through these binders really put things into perspective, as many students were surprised by just how much work they had accomplished.
Today, the class was able to cash in their hard-earned Dojo points for ice cream and some extra recess time, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
In Math, we have continued working through the remaining topics, while in English we have begun our Boy Overboard story map. Alongside this, we have been covering several important concepts that we feel are beneficial for students to complete before the year ends.
In Social Studies, the students have been bartering their raw materials as part of their city-state assignment and seem to be thoroughly enjoying the task. Today, they presented the forms of government they selected for their city-states, and next week we will conclude the assignment by exploring what daily life would be like for their citizens.
In Science, we will finish the year by learning about electric currents and circuits.
Our end-of-year class party will take place on Friday, June 12th. Students are welcome to bring snacks and board games to enjoy with their classmates. There will also be an age-appropriate movie for them to watch.
Please note that Friday, June 12th, is the last day of school and will be a half day. Lunch will be at 11:40 a.m., with dismissal as follows:
Bus students: 12:20 p.m.
Taxi students: 12:25 p.m.
Parent pick-up students: 12:30 p.m.
Please let us know if you need to pick up your child earlier.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Ferreira
